Keren Radcliffe began her working life in a well-known financial institution in beautiful bayside Melbourne with a variety of roles including training others in required procedures while learning a variety of office protocols enhancing her broad range of organisational skills.

After six years Keren undertook full-time work for a Not-For-Profit organisation which she enjoyed once again while also gaining an understanding of those who are less fortunate in society.  A move to the country and a return to working once again for a financial institution were part of Keren’s future alongside a period of family leave, dotted with working in various roles as a bookkeeper and undertaking a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping to gain a qualification to formalise a role in which she already had gained multiple skills.

The year 2010 saw Keren returned once again to the workforce full-time and undertake roles as accounts administrator for various businesses including manufacturing, importing and telecommunications.  These roles included helping others to accurately record the financial transactions of their businesses and offering advice as to how to reduce expenditure and increase their profit and gave Keren the confidence to move into a business where these skills could be further enhanced.

As an ABBS bookkeeper and being part of a group with resources unparalleled in today’s financial market, Keren believes she has the skills to be an asset to all those who are looking to make sense of their financial position and offering practical advice to cut costs and improve cash flow.

Kevin Radcliffe moved to Melbourne from Christchurch, New Zealand in 1989 looking to further his career as a carpenter.  Following a move to rural Victoria some years later, Kevin became a registered builder and began to understand the demands placed on those who own their own small business.  A trade teacher noticed Kevin’s attention to detail and suggested to him the idea of pursuing a career in teaching others his well-crafted skill.

Kevin continued to build homes while gaining his Diploma in Education and Training and was then offered a role teaching a special needs group basic carpentry.  Once this was completed Kevin was provided sessional teaching in Melbourne in a well regarded TAFE college, and he decided to move his young family to Melbourne to take up this exciting new role.

The move proved to be a wise decision.  Shortly after the move, Kevin was offered a full-time role teaching carpentry to apprentices, and he continued to do so for over 11 years.  Kevin enjoyed teaching trade skills to those who were active in carpentry while he gained further insight into the needs of tradies and those in small business.

While still teaching Kevin’s career advanced further with his decision to become a bookkeeper.  Kevin believed helping those who were self-employed keep financially compliant while trying to find the work/life balance was something he could do well with his broad understanding of those who are in a trade and small business.  Kevin’s decision led him to undertake Certificate IV in Bookkeeping followed by Certificate IV in Accounting which imparted to him the knowledge of legal requirements for businesses as well as how to maintain complete sets of records and the importance of accuracy and procedures for recording financial transactions.

Kevin decided to join ABBS as a bookkeeper and is now confident both of his understanding of trades and small business, the knowledge he has gained from his education and the resources placed at his disposal will help his clients succeed in all their financial goals.
